Light-and Strange-Baryon Spectra in a Relativistic Potential Model
نویسندگان
چکیده
Lightand strange-baryon spectra are studied in a relativistic potential model of independent quarks taking into account perturbatively the correction due to one-gluon-exchange interaction along with that due to Goldstone boson exchange interaction between the constituent quarks and that due to center-of-mass motion. The baryons are assumed here as an assembly of independent quarks confined in a first approximation by an effective linear potential which presumably represents the non-perturbative multigluon interactions including the gluon self-couplings. The model yields the ground states and excitation spectra of baryons in close agreement with experiment and also explains the correct level ordering of positive-and negative-parity excitations in the N, and spectra. The model also reproduces the mass spectra for some of the other four and three star resonances of the particle data group.

The light baryon spectrum in a relativistic quark model with instanton-induced quark forces
This is the third of a series of papers treating light baryon resonances up to 3 GeV within a relativistically covariant quark model based on the Bethe-Salpeter equation with instantaneous twoand three-body forces. In this last paper we extend our previous work [2] on non-strange baryons to a prediction of the complete strange baryon spectrum and a detailed comparison with experiment. We apply ...

We investigate the structure of the SU (3) octet and decuplet baryons employing a constituent quark model designed for the study of the baryon-baryon interaction and successfully applied to the meson spectra. The model considers through the interacting potential perturbative, one-gluon exchange, and non-perturbative, boson exchanges and confinement, aspects of the underlying theory, QCD. We sol...

We review the application of non-relativistic constituent quark models to study one, two and three non-strange baryon systems. We present results for the baryon spectra, potentials and observables of the NN, N∆, ∆∆ and NN * (1440) systems, and also for the binding energies of three non-strange baryon systems. We make emphasis on observable effects related to quark antisymmetry and its interplay...
متن کاملBaryon resonances and strong decays
Constituent quark models provide a reasonable description of the baryon mass spectra. However, even in the lightand strange-flavor sectors several intriguing shortcomings remain. Especially with regard to strong decays of baryon resonances no consistent picture has so far emerged, and the existing experimental data cannot be explained in a satisfactory manner. Recently first covariant calculati...

A model of multiparticle production in hadronic collisions at ultra-relativistic energies, based on the assumption of independent string fragmentation, reproduces the rapidity spectra of Λ and Λ̄ in sulphur-sulphur collisions reported by the NA35 Collaboration. This is achieved after a reconsideration of the intermediate multi-string states and the structure of the diquarks. Nuclear stopping pow...
